    Fixed Ceiling Track Hoists

With the powered traverse, the hoist is propelled along the track controlled by means of buttons on the handset – colour coded for direction. All powered traverse models are easily converted to manual operation by the turning of a hand wheel nut on the top of the hoist. This can be of advantage when exact positioning is required or if the hoist has run out of charge away from the charging dock. All standard Freeway Ceiling Hoists come with: Manual or Powered Traverse Freeway Hoist, Carry Bar with 3 metre tape (longer tapes available), Transformer set, Pneumatic Handset & Hook, Emergency manual Adaptor, Completed log book. The option of a double charging beak (where the hoist can be docked at either end of the track and charged) is available upon request on powered and manual traverse models. Optional carry bars: Depending upon the type of sling to be used, you may require the option of a three-hook carry bar. Paediatric carry bars with shorter overall width. Straight carry bars to give increased height. Bariatric carry bar- Extended width and special design carry bars are made to order. Safety features include: A failsafe over speed governor is fitted to all our models, so that in the unlikely event of rapid descent owing to mechanical failure, a brake on the tape automatically comes into operation. This action is similar to the seatbelt on a car, The carry bar is set to stop automatically at its top and bottom limits , There are two forms of emergency lowering: (A) battery wind down, using the emergency lowering cord, (B) a manual operation adaptor using the special adaptor stored on top of the hoist - see below for details of this unique product. The attractive cover of the hoist is fire retardant ABS. All units are fitted with “soft-start” so that no sudden movements are experienced . The handset is lightweight and clearly marked. Because it is air operated there are no electrical currents running directly to the hand of the user, and therefore can be used in wet conditions without any worry. The controls need to be depressed for the hoist to move, so if your hand were to slip, the hoist would not move unexpectedly. If more than one button on the handset were to be depressed at one time only one would take effect. Emergency Stop/Overload Reset Button: - When pulled, the emergency stop cord operates an isolator switch which takes away all power from the hoist. This switch is combined with overload protection and will operate to safe guard the hoist in the event of overload (e.g. an excessive lift being attempted) . A warranty extension of up to five years is also available. Each unit is fully tested before leaving our factory ...

    Fixed Ceiling Track Hoists

Most hoists available today are fitted with an emergency lowering feature, but the Freeway uniquely has this Manual adaptor. If a carer is performing a transfer and the hoist stops, with other hoists, the user can only be lowered and no more use of the hoist can take place. With the Freeway, not only can the transfer be completed, but the hoist can continue to be used manually for lowering, raising and traversing until help arrives. ...

  • Freeway Portable and Gantry

    Freeway Portable and Gantry

Good looking and practical design - The Freeway Portable has an attractive innovative design with integral carry handle and hooks, which maintains width across the users shoulders, thus maintaining comfort. The low profile of the Freeway allows maximum lifting height and is away from the user’s face. Pop out battery Cartridges mean the hoist can be kept in continual use. Strong & Lightweight- Of rigid yet lightweight construction the hoist can be easily moved to different locations as required using the integral carry handle. With a mighty 200kgs capacity the hoist is suitable for use with a fixed track such as the Freeway aluminium track or the revolutionary Freeway Free Standing Gantry, and is light, strong and easy to operate. It should be noted that the load applied to the Freeway Portable should not exceed the safe working load of the installation. Practical - Swift recharge is achieved using the convenient desktop charger or connection directly to the hoist, whilst the option of an extra battery cartridge will enable no interruption in use. The Freeway Portable hoist’s carry hook can easily be clipped onto any Freeway track when fitted with a suitable trolley assembly, or to the New Freeway freestanding Gantry. Easy to use - The Freeway Portable has the same reliable safe handset of the fixed ceiling track hoists and the ‘soft start’ which Freeway pioneered as an advance in user comfort and confidence, On board controls as well as handset controls increase ease of use and peace of mind, Easily recharged by either direct connection to the hoist or the desk top charger, Manual traverse is achieved along Freeway track by means of the smooth running Freeway trolley. Host of Safety Features- Emergency stops on handset and on board, Emergency lowering from handset and on board controls, Slack Tape Stop – the hoist will only operate if there is weight on the tape thus preventing slack tape allowing a sudden descent of the user, Limit switch; prevents the tape being taken up into the hoist and causing damage to the hoist, Overload cut out – means Hoist cannot be overloaded thus compromising safety. Safety Lock on easy fit hook. Freeway Free Standing Gantry- Features - The Freeway Free Standing Gantry is a major advance in track design: Enormously strong, the system is practical, very easy to erect with out tools, cannot be erected in an un safe manner, and takes under 15 minutes to install. No ceiling or other structure is required to support it. Very stable, the track expands up to 2.9metres in width and the gantry posts raise to allow clearance of up to 2.7 metres, thus allowing for the raising of a person from floor to high bed height with ease and allowing sufficient width for correct positioning of carer and user. Each post adjusts individually so sloping floors do not present a problem. The trolley, to which the portable attaches, is smooth and easy running. The Freeway Free Standing Gantry is constructed of strong aluminium extrusion yet each section does not exceed 10 kg in weight. Safety: The Gantry is strong, with a safe working load of 200kgs (30 stones). The Gantry is particularly stable giving confidence to the carer and user. Because no structural support is required, the gantry is not reliant for safety on the integrity of the installation site. The gantry is not susceptible to failure through collision with its structure. The unique method of construction means that erection is straightforward and cannot be undertaken in an unsafe manner. Individual adjustment of the gantry feet is possible to achieve a perfectly level track even on sloping flooring. The Gantry can be dismantled into sections which do not present manual handling problems for the erecter/installer ...

  • Track & System Features

    Track & System Features

The variety of track available opens up endless possibilities for design. Freeway has its own white aluminium track and brackets on which the freeway hoists run. It is light, unobtrusive, easy to fit and easily installed. In order to provide the best system for you, Freeway track comes in a number of configurations: Straight Track: Has a depth of only 7.5 cm yet will take up to 55 stone (300 kgs), depending on fixings. The most common installation will use a 2.5 m length of track. 2.5m 3m and 5m track available. Backing Track: Where clear spans are required of over 2.5m, a special backing track is used to support the straight track. This enables clear unsupported spans of up to 5metres to be achieved. If you need over 5 metre clear span, contact us or your agent to discuss. Curved Track - In many instances, it may be required to move the hoist along a bend as well as in a straight direction. Freeway track is available in four different angles in order to accommodate the requirements of the system: 90 degree curves, 45 degree curves, 22 degree curves, 15 degree curves. Turntables - It may be a requirement of the system that the hoist should be able to turn sharply either in more than one direction or at an angle greater than 90°; the Freeway Turntable is the answer to this problem. The Turntable has fifteen potential positions from which track can be fitted so that correct positioning within the room can be achieved. ‘H’ Systems - The ‘H’ System is perfect to give whole room coverage. With this system, a hoist can be moved to any position within a room. Transfers from bed to chair, from chair to wheelchair, from floor to anywhere are all easily managed. ‘H’ systems are available either manually operated or as a powered system so that the hoist can be electrically driven in all directions. Transition Points - It may be desirable to pass from the ‘H’ system to straight track: for example when leaving a room where an ‘H’ system is fitted, the Transition point allows just that. We have recently released out new Patented Transition Gate enabling transfer from an XY/H system to straight track. This replaces our earlier model with more features. ...
